Los Angeles - Administrative Assistant

We are a continuously growing company that values teamwork, a positive attitude, and a passion for media and localization. In 2014, BTI Studios launched its new US hub in Burbank, California. As part of our expansion and in support of our expanding client base, we are recruiting for an experienced Administrative Assistant.

A sample of the responsibilities for the Administrative Assistant will be to:

  • Initiate Purchase Order Creation for Project Management team
  • Track transactional sales activity and enter into Sales Force
  • Ensure guest registration in BTI’s visitor log
  • Create presentations, write letters, and other documents
  • Coordinate and liaise with VP’s for their marketing needs and liaise with the international marketing team to assist with marketing projects and ensure the international marketing team are kept up to date with BTI US office changes and events
  • Maintain company intranet for US office
  • Handle call routing for general office inquiries
  • Expense report processing
  • Bookings for staff including travel and events
  • Manage company cell phone contract
  • Manage company apartment rental – ensure apartment is maintained, information about the apartment is made available to visitors
  • Liaise with building management to retain up-to-date information regarding building regulations and manage the staff entry/parking passes.

As the first point of contact for visitors, professionally and courteously greet all visitors making them comfortable and welcomed while their contacts are being notified. Successful candidates will have strong computer skills including the Microsoft Office Suite and 1-2 years administrative experience preferably with a global organization.

Los Angeles - Account Coordinator

We are seeking a service minded individual to perform a critical customer support role on behalf of our project management team located at our Burbank, CA studios. Specific responsibilities for this role include the following:

  • Assist project management team with daily orders and administrative activities
  • Check costs for project creation versus sales value
  • Alert management to pricing discrepancies prior to order submission
  • Validate final invoices and reconcile prior to payment
  • Provide back-up coverage for Project Managers during time-off
  • Ensure timely, accurate completion of orders as per customer specifications
  • Assist with customer deliveries, file checks, conversions
  • Track re-delivery requests assisting project management team
  • Back-up front-desk administrative assistant as needed
  • Tracking transactional orders for entry into sales and order management systems

This position offers an entry-point and growth opportunity to become a full-time project manager based on performance and future business needs. While project management experience is not a requirement, developmental progress will be dependent on the employee’s ability to take direction and learn from training.

The ideal candidate must be able to:

Systems Administrator

Job purpose:

The Systems Administrator will look after Company’s systems and users based in the UK.You will be working as part of a dynamic team of professionals from various regions of the world. This is a great opportunity to develop new skills and gain experience through training and working with advanced technologies. Key responsibilities:

User and group administration in MS Windows Server/Active Directory environment;

French editor - Aalst - Belgium

BTI Studios are looking to expand our in-house French subtitling team in Aalst. The job consists of editing subtitles for TV, DVD, VOD, corporate clients. Excellent knowledge of English and Dutch is required. Some experience in the proofreading and/or subtitling fields would be a definite advantage.

Main Functions:

  • To edit French subtitles to established reading speeds, retaining the content and flavour of the source material, whilst ensuring that subtitles stay synchronised with the soundtrack and allow adequate access to picture and graphics.
  • To carry out all necessary research, maintaining the factual and grammatical accuracy of subtitle content.
  • To provide feedback to the translators.
  • To proofread, recut and re-edit existing files in line with client/format specifications.

London - Danish and Swedish Subtitlers

We are looking to expand our multilingual in-house subtitling team in Chiswick, West London. The job consists of translating TV and video material, mainly from English sources, and may also include the creation of same-language subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing and audio description for people with sight loss. Warsaw - Subtitling Production Assistants

The Role

We are looking for a production assistant to join our Warsaw team, assuring the timely and accurate delivery of international subtitling projects. The key focus for this role is checking and editing subtitle files in various languages to comply with technical specifications. The ideal candidate must have excellent attention to detail, in order to ensure the subtitles our clients broadcast on media platforms around the world meet our exacting standards.

You will be working in a dynamic, international business; good communication skills in English are essential. Knowledge of other European languages would also be advantageous, especially Swedish, Danish, Norwegian or Finnish, but this is not a requirement – this is not a linguistic proofreading role. Above all we are looking for someone focused, adaptable and organised, who functions well under time pressure and will not be deterred by repetitive screen work.

You will have the opportunity to work with subtitles for a variety of film, television and video material. Relevant experience would be an advantage, but it is more important to be quick to learn and assimilate new tasks, software and processes. Training will be provided.

Uppdragen gäller i första hand översättning från engelska till svenska, men vi ser gärna att några av våra nya översättare även kan översätta från ett eller flera av de nordiska språken. Andra språk är också meriterande.

Samtliga översättare som börjar arbeta för BTI Studios får genomgå en kurs i undertextning i företagets regi. Kursen, som är individuellt upplagd och pågår i två till tre veckor. Kursstarten är planerad till början av februari.

Översättning för film och tv ställer höga krav på såväl noggrannhet som snabbhet, och det är givetvis viktigt att undertextaren har goda förutsättningar för yrket. Goda kunskaper i engelska är ett krav, vilket exempelvis universitetsstudier, långa utlandsvistelser eller tvåspråkighet hemifrån kan ge. Vi lägger även stor vikt vid hanteringen av vårt modersmål, och ser universitetsstudier i svenska som ett plus.

De sökande som bedöms vara mest intressanta kommer att få skriva ett prov i engelska och svenska, och i det eller de andra språk som är aktuella.

German Freelance Translators/Subtitlers

BTI Studios is looking for experienced German freelance subtitlers to meet the demands of our ever-expanding business. As one of the world’s largest media localisation companies we provide translation, subtitling, dubbing and audio description services to international broadcasters and distributors.

The role will involve translating audiovisual material into German for major international broadcasters. We are looking for language and translation graduates, or people with a background in translation, with fluent English who have German as their first language. Proofreading or translation experience is essential, as are an eye for detail and good time management.
