Finnish broadcasters MTV aired popular British TV Show The X Factor on the Sub channel in Finland last month. It was an exciting series for Finnish audiences as Finnish singer Saara Aalto sang herself to the X Factor Grand Final.
BTI’s translators in Helsinki were busy with urgent subtitling translations for the program. The further the contest went on and the more Aalto succeeded, the faster the client wanted to make changes to the broadcasting schedule. Sub also wanted to air X Factor spin-off show The Xtra Factor, so during the last weeks of the contest, in December 2016, our subtitling team in Finland had a lot of urgent translating to do, with no scripts available.
The contest climaxed with the finals, which were also broadcast live in Finland. After the first part of the finals on Saturday the 10th December, three of our freelance translators started subtitling the show on Sunday morning for the rerun that was aired before Sunday night’s live broadcast of part two of the finals.
Sub channel had 1.3 million Finnish viewers on the Sunday of the Grand Final live show. Well done to our excellent translators who turned around the subtitling at lightening speed!comments powered by Disqus
